Trae Young took the leap in the 2021-22 season. He became an NBA All-Star for the second time in his career while earning his first All-NBA team selection.
But in the 2022-23 season, Young essentially took a step back in his career. The Atlanta Hawks superstar missed out on All-NBA team honors, despite averaging 26.2 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 10.2 APG. Young made a sarcastic tweet about how putting ’empty stats’ was the reason behind getting snubbed.
“‘They’ said I had ’empty stats.’”
“They” said I had “empty stats” ..😂🥱😂

Young wasn’t done clapping back at his doubters. He had another tweet appreciating the “real ones.”
“Real ones get it. We Move!”
Real ones get it..
We Move!🫡

Trae’s averages were certainly not bad for him earning a place on any of the three All-NBA teams. But the Hawks star’s shooting percentage certainly torpedoed his chances. He shot 42.9% from the field and 33.5% from downtown.
But Young stepped up for the Hawks in the playoffs. Young and co. pushed the Boston Celtics to six games in the first round of the 2023 postseason.
Trae Young Was Voted As The Most Overrated Player In The NBA
Over the last few months, Trae Young has made a few headlines. There were rumors that Young may get traded if he fails to lead the Hawks to a deep playoff run this season.
On the other hand, Young only seems to be adding more names to his haters’ club. So much so that Trae was voted the most overrated player in the NBA.
Considering these votes were made by current NBA players, Young has certainly ruffled a few feathers.
The only way for him to remove that tag is to work on his craft this summer and then lead the Hawks to an amazing regular season run and an even greater playoff campaign.
Can Young do that? Well, there is no way for us to tell. He seems to have the talent for it, to say the least.
