  • The superstar wants to show of his passing
  • Young believes that he should be on the team

Point guard Trae Young seems to be consistently disrespected by the fans and the media, despite his elite numbers with the Atlanta Hawks. He was notably snubbed for Team USA this summer, not even making the Select team that helps the main team scrimmage and prepare for the FIBA tournament.

Recently, Trae Young spoke out about potentially playing on Team USA in the future. He noted that he would love to be more of a passer, and noted that he should be on the team this year.

“I definitely want to. I’ve talked about playing on USA a couple of times. I definitely want to, it’s up to them if they want me too. I would love to play with guys and show off my passing more and not have to go out there and score a lot, and just be there if they need me to. I mean, I’d be happy to obviously, I would love to play. . .I respect the OGs and understand that you got to take your turn, but I believe that I should be on.”

There is no doubt that Trae Young’s talent suggests that he should have been selected for this year’s team. He is definitely better on an individual level than some of the players that are on the team right now. However, Young isn’t necessarily the best defender, and that is an important factor that goes into selecting players for Team USA.

This past season with the Atlanta Hawks, Trae Young averaged 26.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 10.2 assists. He is clearly a talented offensive player, and hopefully, we see him selected for Team USA in the future.

Trae Young Wants To Win Championships

There is no doubt that Trae Young has already accomplished a decent amount in his NBA career. He made the All-NBA Third Team in 2022 and has had two All-Star appearances. However, he has not yet won a championship.

The Atlanta Hawks hired coach Quin Snyder to get the best out of their superstar, and it seems as though Trae Young loves the fit. In fact, Young claimed that he wants to win four championships under Snyder.

Hopefully, we do see Young find success and get deep in the playoffs in the future. He definitely has the talent to be a truly special player, and we’ll see how the Hawks do next year.
