After seeing a lot of ups and downs this season, the Atlanta Hawks finally clinched the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. It’s quite surprising to see the Hawks struggle this much since they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season.

They even pushed the eventual champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, to Game 6 in the ECF. Regardless of how well they played last season, this time around it will be tough for the team to even make it to the Conference Finals.

In the very first round, they face the first-seeded Miami Heat, led by Jimmy Butler. Moreover, in Game 1 of the series, the Heat proved why they are the top-seeded team in the East as they blew the Hawks away.

At the end of the buzzer, the scoreline was 115-91, in favor of the Miami Heat. Now, considering the fact that they are the no. 1 seed in the conference, it wasn’t surprising to see them win the game.

On the other hand, the Hawks’ fans have already started to overreact as it seems like their team will be eliminated from the postseason in the opening round. Of course, Trae Young was asked about his thoughts on the same and he gave a savage reply.

“You have to win four games to win a series. You don’t win one and win it all. If that was the case, we would’ve been in the Finals last year.”

While the Heat may have won the first game of the series, it is still far from over for Young and co. In fact, many believe that the actual series doesn’t even start until Game 3.

By then, both teams have had enough time to analyze their weaknesses and improve what’s lacking in their games. So if you are a fan of the Atlanta Hawks, don’t lose hope just yet.
