Tyrese Haliburton and Marcus Smart starred in a controversial moment Thursday night when the Indiana Pacers hosted the Boston Celtics.

The two point guards clashed many times during the game, and at some point, tempers flared, and they exchanged some words. Following the game, Haliburton labeled the altercation as ‘nothing.’

“Nothing. Nothing,” Haliburton stated. “I mean, that’s who he is. That’s his job on the team. Just playing basketball. And sure, yeah, I guess that got me going, but I feel like I was already going. So, yeah, wasn’t doing nothing.”

This has been a common thing this season, with several players going at it almost every week. Last night, James Harden and Dillon Brooks also faced off on the court, adding another incident to this season’s long list.

Haliburton thinks it was nothing, and that’s it. Smart is a provoking player, and as the Pacers’ All-star said, that’s his job.

Boston Celtics Remain At The Top, Pacers Are One Of The Worst Teams In The East

After a thrilling game that needed OT to define a winner, the Boston Celtics remain atop the Eastern Conference with a 43-17 record, the best in the entire league. They’re looking like a solid team to win the NBA championship, and as long as their Big 3 remains healthy, they will have a chance against anybody.

As for the Pacers, they are struggling to get things going this season. Haliburton only can do so much, and Indiana only ranks 12th in the Eastern Conference, 3.5 games away from the last play-in tournament spot, which belongs to the Washington Wizards right now.

These two teams have different realities, but none of that mattered last night. They were ready to leave it all on the court and seeing the final result of the game and how intense it was, they gave their everything to get the win. Haliburton and Smart went at it, too, demonstrating that they were ready to do anything to get the victory.
