Victor Oladipo On If He Will Leave The Indiana Pacers To Chase A Championship: “I’m All About Winning. I Wanna Be The Greatest. I Want To Have My Name Amongst The Greats.”

Victor Oladipo’s future with the Indiana Pacers is uncertain after rumors surfaced suggesting the guard was on his way out of the team following a sweep in the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs at the hands of the Miami Heat. They didn’t have Domantas Sabonis in the bubble, which hurt their chances to put a stronger competition against Miami and with Dipo coming off an injury, things didn’t look that well for the team.

Now the 2x All-Star could be leaving the team after his contract runs out next season. During a recent interview with legendary rapper Fat Joe, Victor said he was a Pacer, but making it clear that he wants to win and that won’t necessarily happen in Indiana.

“I’m a Pacer. I’m a Pacer… Those rumors on the internet, I don’t know where they’re coming from, I’m just focused on getting my knee right for next year,” Oladipo exclaimed.

Oladipo explained that winning a title in today’s NBA is more important than ever given how players are perceived based on the titles they won or didn’t.

“I’m all about winning. That’s what you’re defined as. I wanna be the greatest, I want to have my name amongst the greats, I wanna be able to show my kids how great of a player I was. And in order to do that, you gotta show them some hardware…I want a lot of hardware.”

Only time will tell what he’ll do in the future. The Pacers have a good core with Myles Turner, TJ Warren, Sabonis and Oladipo, but that team could break up as soon as one of these pieces left the squad. Dipo wants to win, as he said, and he’ll probably try to do so in another team.
