The Golden State Warriors saved their season by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

But it looks like the defending champions of the league will have to play without Andrew Wiggins in Game 6 of the series. Wiggins reportedly has a costal cartilage fracture following a clash with LeBron James. The Athletic’s Anthony Slater broke down the play where Wiggins may have gotten hurt.

“Andrew Wiggins appeared to first show rib discomfort after this box out crack of LeBron James in the middle of the fourth quarter. Kept grabbing at his ribs the next few minutes. Costal cartilage fracture. His Game 6 status is in question.

Wiggins played a crucial role in the Warriors’ Game 5 win over the Lakers. He recorded 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists while playing 36 minutes. Now, Wiggins’ status for Game 6 is questionable, and it’s certainly bad news for the Dubs.

Wiggins is one of the best two-way players in the league and has the ability to defend the best player on the opposing team. If Wiggins is sidelined in the pivotal game of the series, the Lakers will have a huge opportunity to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors vs. Lakers Series Has Been Thrilling

The Western Conference Semifinals battle between Stephen Curry and LeBron James’ sides has lived up to its expectations so far.

The Lakers currently hold a 3-2 lead over the Warriors and will look to finish things off at home in Game 6. But knowing the Warriors, they still have a chance to stun the Lakers.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis is expected to feature in Game 6, despite taking a hit in the head by Kevon Looney. Had Davis been sidelined, the odds would have shifted in favor of the Warriors.

Will the Lakers finally close out the series vs. the Warriors at home? We will find out on Friday night.
