The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to end a 9-game losing streak at the hands of their rival Los Angeles Clippers tonight. The team has acquired help by trading for Rui Hachimura and is expecting the return of Anthony Davis as soon as their next game against the San Antonio Spurs, but the Clippers are going to be a tough challenge to overcome.
A lot of the responsibility will fall squarely on the shoulder of LeBron James, as he has led this team to everything they’ve achieved this season. James loves doing his ritualistic pre-game chalk toss, something he was inspired to do because of Michael Jordan. However, his pre-game chalk toss against the Clippers accidentally hit Anthony Davis in the face.

The Lakers are getting blown out by the Clippers once again, trailing 77-54 at halftime. Maybe another magical comeback is in the works for LA, but this is a team that has consistently beaten them over the last 3 years.
Are The Full Strength Lakers Contenders?
This game may be a pushover performance by the Lakers, knowing that they are hoping to get frontcourt reinforcement in Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura by their next game. Either way, losing a rivalry matchup isn’t ideal.
Davis looked fine after the chalk toss incident, so it’s not like that will affect his timeline. As someone who has been around enough dusty chalkboards, getting hit with a gust of that in the face isn’t a fun feeling. He might be uncomfortable because of that, but he definitely will be uncomfortable right now, sitting on the bench and being unable to help his team withstand the Clippers’ onslaught yet again.
