- LaVar Ball launched Big Baller Brand back in 2016
- The brand returned to the spotlight recently when LaVar revealed their new shoes
- Ball’s sons Lonzo and LaMelo promoted the latest shoe
The Big Baller Brand seems to be attempting to make a comeback to the mainstream, with Lonzo and LaMelo Ball promoting the brand’s latest product, GENEGG shoes. Videos of the two brothers promoting the shoe recently went viral on social media.
“How y’all doing, it’s Lonzo Ball here, bringing to you live the BBB x GENEGG slipper that just came out,” Lonzo said. “Very comfortable and you can see the colorway goes nicely with the red, white, and black. I just got out of knee surgery, and I’m walking around fine in them. They feel great and I’m happy to have them on my feet.”

LaMelo is signed with Puma, so I’m not sure how he can promote BBB, but I’m assuming some conversation might have taken place.
Their father, LaVar Ball, had actually revealed earlier this month that these shoes were coming out. LaVar was promoting some BBB clothing when he added that you can expect the shoes to be released soon.
“Yeah, you saw them! That’s right, these triple B’s. You know our flavor’s getting tight,” Ball said. “You’ve gotta get this shirt, ‘Greatness takes balls.’ Look how clean it is. Now, if you’re into fashion, get this black and gold. I’ma tell you what, these right here, coming soon!”
Ball pointed to the brand-new shoe and called it the “coldest and softest” in the market.
“So you gotta get the whole ensemble, triple B style,” Ball continued. “These are the coldest, softest shoes in the game. Trust me when I tell you. So get your Big Baller gear up. This is what you need, baby. Holla at your boy.”

You have to admire the fact that LaVar just won’t stop and that he seems hellbent on turning BBB into a successful business. Considering the reputation that the brand has now among the general public, I do have doubts about how well these would sell.
The Lakers Reportedly Blame BBB For Lonzo Ball’s Injuries
The biggest hit to BBB’s reputation came thanks to some claims made by Doug Gottlieb. He stated that the Los Angeles Lakers believe Lonzo’s initial injuries were caused by wearing LaVar’s BBB shoes.
Lonzo is in the midst of an injury nightmare, having last played a game for the Chicago Bulls on January 14, 2022. He has undergone multiple knee surgeries since then, and Lonzo confirmed he’ll miss the 2023-24 season as well.
We can’t say for sure whether those shoes are what led to all this. If that were the case, I’d think Lonzo’s doctors would have brought that up to him. Would the 25-year-old still promote BBB after being informed about it? I doubt it, but then again, you never know.
BBB Has Launched Exercise Bars For $1,850
While you may find buyers for those shoes, I have serious doubts anyone is going to buy the other product that BBB recently launched. LaVar is offering Big Baller exercise bars for a ridiculous $1,850, and I can’t imagine someone actually buying it at that rate, especially when established brands probably sell them at a cheaper rate.
We have seen LaVar in the past charge exorbitant prices for BBB products. Lonzo’s first signature shoe LO2 was priced at $495 and this was even before he had been drafted by the Lakers. Shoes personally autographed by Lonzo, meanwhile, were priced at $995 and $1,195.
