Of late, much of the news surrounding Damian Lillard has been about his future with the Portland Trail Blazers. But in what comes as a refreshing change of scenery, the latest about the guard was him sharing a wholesome moment with his son, Dame Jr.

Lillard and his son were live on Instagram when they shared an adorable jiff where the Blazers star showed how much he loves his son, and surely, it was the other way around as well.

Damian Lillard: “I love you, son.”

Dame Jr.: “I love you, daddy.”

Damian Lillard: “You my dawg?”

Dame Jr.: “Yea.”

Damian Lillard: “Who’s your best friend in the whole wide world?

Dame Jr: “Daddy.”

So wholesome between father and son.

It’s nice to see Lillard spend time with family, even though much of his news has been about the potential departure from Portland.

While some of the fans used the platform to check his future plans, some of them were happy to see the heartfelt interactions between the father and the son.

Blazers GM Commits To Building A Winning Roster Around Damian Lillard

Although there has been no official word from Lillard that he wants out of Portland, the team has been consistent in ensuring the fans that the mercurial guard will remain with the Blazers.

Earlier, Lillard and the Blazers brass met to discuss the team’s direction, following which Blazers GM Joe Cronin stressed that the front office will do everything in their power to ensure Lillard will have a contending roster ahead of the next season.

“I met with Dame and Aaron Goodwin (Dame’s agent) this afternoon. We had a great dialogue. We remain committed to building a winner around Dame.”

Despite the Blazers’ woeful run, Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists last season. The team failed to make the playoffs for the second season in a row, and while rumors will churn about his time in Portland, it looks like both parties intend to run it back. Only time will tell if the team manages to construct a roster that gives Lillard a chance to pull the team to a title run.
