Wilt Chamberlain’s One Step Vertical Reach Caught In A Photographer’s Flash

2 Min Read

Wilt Chamberlain was a dominant specimen. One physically gifted player that even today makes people surprised about his feats and the ‘supernatural’ things he did on the court. Chamberlain owns the record for the most points scored in a single game, with 100, but that’s not the most interesting thing about him.

Wilt’s vertical leap is allegedly 48”, something unthinkable for some people. Fortunately for everybody, there is evidence of this. One photographer caught the moment where Wilt attempted to block a shot and the result is more than remarkable.

Chamberlain almost reached the top of the board with his one-step vertical reach. That’s crazy, to say the least.

There wasn’t and isn’t a better vertical leap than his. Not even Michael Jordan or LeBron James could surpass that. These are only bits of the things Chamberlain did during his career, but they are still mind-blowing. No wonder why people doubt that he was actually human.

In 112 games, he recorded 8.8 blocks per game, so you see the magnitude of this dude and the things he did throughout his career. He was the best of the best during his era, but even nowadays we get shocked by the stuff he did plenty of years ago.
