NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Could Land Rudy Gobert For Gordon Hayward, Enes Kanter, And No. 14 Pick

Gordon Hayward could reunite with the Utah Jazz this offseason if the Celtics pull the trigger and propose a deal to land All-Star big man Rudy Gobert. The C’s partnership with Hayward hasn’t gone as they wanted when he signed with them a couple of years ago and now their time together seems to be nearing its end. Boston is reportedly studying the idea of trading for Gobert and they could make a compelling package to unlock talks with the Jazz.

Reports suggest they have made their priority this offseason to land a center and Gobert appears to be their favorite option to strengthen that position. They reached the Eastern Conference Finals in the bubble and perhaps a center like Gobert is the piece they need to finally make it to the Finals for the first time since 2010.

The Celtics are weighing the idea of trading for Jazz center Rudy Gobert, source tells me.

There’s belief within the Celtics organization that trading for a center this offseason is a priority.

A proposed trade would include Hayward, Enes Kanter and the No. 14 draft pick to the Jazz, who would send Gobert, Royce O’Neale and a future second-rounder to Boston. This would solve the Hayward problem for the Celtics and would bring some relief to their finances. In the process, they would add a proven center in Gobert to try to make a push to win the NBA championship.

Ever since Al Horford left the team, they have lacked a good presence in the paint. Sure, Daniel Theis has tried to do his best but it’s not enough. They have a good core of players and adding the French star will only benefit them.

Those are their plans, according to reports, but it remains to be seen how the situation develops with the Celtics and their players.
