NBA Rumors: Knicks Could Trade For Victor Oladipo

2 Min Read

With the New York Knicks sitting on the edge of the playoff picture, they might only be a pice or two away from making some real noise in the Eastern Conference.

And while the Knicks’ future remains in doubt, a recent report by Sherrod Blakely indicates they might have their eyes set on acquiring 28-year-old swingman, Victor Oladipo.

“That’s why Houston Rockets guard Victor Oladipo will be a name to keep an eye on,” Blakely wrote. “The former All-Star has had a slew of injuries in recent years but is among the more talented two-way players when healthy. League sources say the Knicks are among the teams interested in Oladipo and will be closely monitoring the impending free agent’s play leading up to the deadline and beyond if he’s not moved by then.”

Looking past Oladipo’s troubling injury history, Vic is a guy that could make an immediate and lasting impact for the Knickerbockers. This season, he’s averaging 20.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists on 40.8% shooting. As a solid shooter and capable defender, he brings a lot to the table on both ends of the floor.

And for a team in the Knicks, who are young and itching to prove themselves, having Oladipo could be the perfect move — but we’ll see soon enough if they deem that it’s one worth making before the annual trade deadline.
