Ben Simmons Blasted The Hawks In 2018 While Talking To Karl-Anthony Towns: “You Got Plenty Of Time”

2 Min Read

Ben Simmons and his Philadelphia 76ers saw their season finished at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young was on a mission, dominating the Sixers, getting a huge W to take the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals.

After the elimination, the Australian playmaker received plenty of criticism for his free throw struggles, the wide-open layup he missed in the 4th quarter, and more. Many people waited for this moment to go off on Simmons, and somebody found old footage of the player trolling the Hawks in 2018.

While playing video games with Minnesota Timberwolves’ star Karl-Anthony Towns, Simmons somehow predicted the Dominican-American would have a big night. Ben wanted to play PUBG with the big man, saying he had plenty of time since he was only facing the Atlanta Hawks the next day.

KAT did have a terrific game, scoring 56 points, along with 15 rebounds in the T-Wolves win over the Hawks.

Flash forward, however, that young Hawks team has become a threat in the Eastern Conference, beating them as visitors behind Trae Young’s impressive performances. The Sixers landed in the postseason as one of the favorites to make the NBA Finals.

However, their flaws were visible during this series. Doc Rivers failed to make adjustments again, and Simmons’ struggles at the line affected the team’s chances to have a deeper playoff run.

Life comes at you fast. While Simmons is getting a lot of hate from fans, Trae Young and his Hawks are getting spoiled by the rest of the NBA.
