At this point, any NBA fan or analyst will tell you that Nikola Jokic is well on his way to earning MVP honors this season. Considering his incredible performance, it’s a well-earned accolade for the Joker.

But the case for others is still going strong in the community, and one sports medicine expert helped strengthen the case for Steph in a chat with the media.

“For him in terms of management, the biggest thing for him was dealing with the pain. So that just indicates he probably was dealing with a lot more pain during the season, which makes his performance all the more remarkable.

The thing that was the most amazing is that the way the athletes really deal with this, they get afraid of actually falling out, they can move, they can do things like that, but the fear of falling. If you actually looked at Curry in the last 20 games, he actually started going to the rim and dragging a lot more, placing his body at the rest. So that was probably the most amazing thing that he became very physical even with that fear of probably falling and worrying about it was gonna hurt more.”

It has been revealed that Curry had been playing through a hairline fracture in his tailbone prior to his final game with the Warriors this season.

As it has been stated, such an injury comes with a certain degree of pain, pain that Steph had to endure for weeks en-route to leading the Warriors to playoff contention.

Certainly, that fact makes his performance even more impressive, but it will do nothing to change which direction the award will be headed.
