Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic isn’t showing any signs of cracking, but that doesn’t mean everything is square at home. Rumors of a split between him and his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, have been circling for some time now, and the latest development only supports those claims.
In an update by TMZ on Tuesday, they revealed that Anamaria is now seeking child support for their two children, Gabriella and Olivia.
“Luka Doncic’s partner, Anamaria Goltes, just filed a petition for child support of their two minor children,” reported TMZ. “The petition states Anamaria moved back to Slovenia in May of last year, and their kids have remained with her ever since — including their youngest, who was born in December 2025.”
Notably, the petition doesn’t involve any custody orders. That means there are no legal requirements or restrictions on when, where, or how long the kids are allowed to stay with either parent. For now, it seems the plan is for Goltes to stay in Slovenia, away from Doncic, and raise their kids on her own. He can come and see them whenever he wants, so long as he’s doing his part to support them financially.
It’s arguably the final sign that the couple has split apart, although nothing has been made public for now. They started dating in 2016 and got engaged in July 2023, but their relationship status has been in doubt ever since Anamaria unpinned their engagement post on social media.
We can only guess what went wrong between the two, and fans have come up with no shortage of answers. One of the most popular theories was that Luka cheated on his fiancée with Netflix star Madelyn Cline, an actress from the show ‘Outer Banks.’ The rumor is likely completely false, however, as the two have no connection other than following each other on Instagram.
Anamaria Called The Cops On Luka?
The moment where it fell apart might be tied back to an emergency phone call made by Anamaria during her second pregnancy. According to TRMA, something seriously spooked her to the point where she felt unsafe in her own home, but no further action was taken by the police, and nothing more was done beyond recording the event itself.
“The police came to the Kranje maternity hospital shortly after the arrival of Luka Doncic’s father to his second-born girl, and of course, the mother, the police,” Slovenian site TRMA reported. “The “on-duty” one. They didn’t need to be informed, but the event was recorded and, of course, official. The police were called by the partner, the mother.”
No injuries or harm were reported in this incident, which is why it largely went unnoticed. It may have been a heated moment where the cops stepped in before any damage was done. Or, perhaps, it was a sign of some much deeper issues.
“Luka calmed down. No intervention took place in accordance with the regulations on public order and peace. But it was not exactly innocent: the mother and partner/fiancée clearly found themselves in such distress that they called the Kranj Police Station, which responded as always and in accordance with the law.”
Whatever happened that night, evidence suggests that things haven’t been the same since. Anamaria moved away from Luka shortly after that, taking their kid and eventually giving birth to their second daughter in Slovenia. The fact that she’s petitioning for child support suggests that she doesn’t plan to come back.
In a season with so much at stake, focus is everything right now, and Luka cannot afford to lose any when it comes to the Lakers. At 27 years old, he’s in the prime of his career and has an opportunity to pull off something really special.
But if his life at home is as fractured as it looks, it makes you wonder what else may be going on behind the scenes. Ultimately, if he goes off on his fiancée the same way he does to the refs, then it makes sense why she’s making sure to keep her distance.
