  • The Warriors made some bold moves this summer
  • The Warriors’ starting five is one of the topics of discussion so far

Stephen Curry hinted at some massive changes that will be seen with the Golden State Warriors as they look to stake a claim for the championship next season.

This past season, offseason drama, injuries, and inconsistency derailed Golden State’s campaign as they were ousted in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Curry, speaking to The Athletic, spoke broadly of the changes in store.

“Guys are going to be asked to do things that may not all the way vibe with how they see themselves.”

He further added:

“The biggest thing is, look at teams that have won. You realize that there is a certain way about how you show up on a nightly basis. Everybody is important. Everybody is valuable. It’s not going to look pretty for the majority of the year for some guys. Some are going to be in and out of the rotation. Guys are going to be asked to do things that may not all the way vibe with how they see themselves.”

There’s no doubt that Curry and the Warriors have their sights set on the title. They pulled bold moves right at the start of the offseason by trading Jordan Poole for veteran Chris Paul.

Furthermore, they re-signed Draymond Green and added Dario Saric. They also signed guard Cory Joseph and forward Trayce Jackson-Davis to bolster their lineup.

Curry’s words shed little light but will spark speculations about the team’s starting lineup, which may or may not include Paul in it. That said, it’s interesting to see who starts in the five for Golden State.

Are Warriors A Contender Next Season?

The Warriors on the Wane is one of the discussion points around the team ahead of the next season. Add the age of the superstars of the team and how much mileage they have left, the opinion does make sense.

Their competitors are loaded. For instance, the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, and LA Clippers are all favorites to win in the West, and the Warriors will need to figure out who they need to further cement them as bonafide contenders.

In all of this, it’s interesting to see how Paul’s tenure will be with the Bay area team. Can he really make the much-spoken-about impact as their guard? Only time will tell.
