The Golden State Warriors have made some of the more confusing moves of this offseason, the main one being their acquiring Chris Paul in a trade involving Jordan Poole.

But now that they have a potential new ‘Death Lineup’ in place, the Warriors have to work on putting a roster around their stars. And they’ve picked up one of the better free agents left on a one-year deal.

Dario Saric was picked 12th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft and has developed into a serviceable role player in the NBA. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, and most recently played for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season after being traded there by the Phoenix Suns.

Saric can play as a power forward and a center and has averaged 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds throughout his career. He is a great depth piece for the Warriors to have added to their roster, and at 6’10 will provide a decent size off the bench in spot minutes for a team that is quite small.

The Warriors could still make more moves this offseason, but so far, Saric is a solid depth acquisition for the team. There are still a couple more spots left on the roster but it’s now starting to shape up ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The Warriors Could Have Made A Big Splash This Offseason With Reports That Damian Lillard Was Interested

The Warriors’ moves have certainly caught the eyes of the NBA world, but not in the way that they might have. According to reports, Damian Lillard was interested in joining the team, but they traded for Chris Paul before he put in his request.

“They could have waited for Dame,” said Shelburne. “Dame is from the Bay Area. I know he was interested. If he got to the point where he was going to ask for a trade and a list was given [to the organization], the Warriors would have been on that list.”

For Golden State, winning now is the priority. The team has re-signed Draymond Green and committed to keeping their core together for the next few years. As Stephen Curry continues to get older, it remains to be seen if they can get the job done.
