The Bulls Named As A Potential Landing Spot For Deandre Ayton

The Bulls were looked at as one of the key teams that could make a beeline for Ayton.

With the trade rumor mills churning, the latest sees Deandre Ayton linked to the Chicago Bulls.

Per Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz, the soured relationship between Ayton and the Phoenix Suns would mean a new home in the offing for the center.

“Deandre Ayton and the [Phoenix] Suns are no longer a good fit,” wrote Swartz. “Teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers could use an upgrade at center. Add the Chicago Bulls to this list if Nikola Vučević leaves in free agency.”

At the time of writing, Vucevic and the Bulls’ front office are reported to be negotiating terms for a new deal that will see him extend his time in Chicago.

Per The Chicago-Sun Times, “Karnisovas appears determined to keep at least two of his “Big Three,’’ and Vucevic likely brings the least amount back in a deal.”

Ayton averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists this past season when he’s in his element, the big can be quite lethal, but his efforts and chemistry with the Suns have been sub-par. There’s no telling whether he lands up in the Windy City, but chances are that he will be a real threat to the other East teams if he indeed inks a deal with the Bulls.

The Suns Are Confident In Trading Deandre Ayton

With Bradley Beal in Phoenix, the Suns are reportedly confident that they will receive calls for Deandre Ayton.

According to Sean Deveney of Heavy, the team is confident that they’ll be able to trade him.

“There are teams that will come calling for him,” one NBA GM said. “The Suns know that. He is on the back burner, but they’re ready to move him as soon as the right thing comes along. And at this point, if they can get a couple of really solid role players, that will be the right thing for them. That might not happen until we get into Summer League, though.”

At this stage, it makes sense to ship Ayton to add depth to the roster, which has been a sore bane for the Suns. Moving him would give them significant names to add and bolster their bench. It remains to be seen where the center will eventually move.
