The Los Angeles Lakers are in an 0-3 hole after the Denver Nuggets took Game 3 of their Western Conference Finals series. The Purple and Gold looked ready to take the first win of the duel, but Jamal Murray had different plans.
The point guard went off once again, dropping 30 of his 37 points in the first half of the game, telling the Lakers they needed to bring their elite game to take down the Nuggets. The Lakers are now 0-3, which is a result that has never favored them.
This is the 1st time since 2013 the Lakers are down 3-0 in a playoff series.
The Lakers have never even won a playoff game after going down 3-0, let alone win a series.

Trailing a series 0-3, they have never even won a playoff game. It’s not like they managed to take it to 3-2 or 3-3, they directly never made it to the fifth game of a series after going down 0-3.
The last time they were in this position was in 2013, during the first round of the playoffs. The failed superteam of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and Pau Gasol never really worked and the Lakers were swept by the San Antonio Spurs after making it to the playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
This season things were a little different. The Lakers made it as the No. 7 seed in the West, beat the No. 2 seed in the first round and then took out the defending champions in the second round.
Everything looked set for them to make it to the NBA Finals, but Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and co. had different plans. Now the Lakers face an incredibly difficult challenge, but they remain confident the job can be done.
No Team Has Come Back From A 0-3 Deficit In NBA History
The Nuggets are the only team to return from a 3-1 deficit in NBA history twice, but not even them, during their magical bubble run, would have been able to come back from a 0-3 disadvantage. Darvin Ham has made it clear until the Nuggets win four games, the Lakers will have hope, but history says whatever they do will only postpone the inevitable outcome for a little while.
The Lakers are the 150th team to be in this position, and in the 149 previous cases, not a single team was able to win their respective series. This is a complex moment for the Purple and Gold, and if they manage to win this duel, they would make history like anybody else did it before.
