The Los Angeles Lakers now face a stern test after going down to the Denver Nuggets for the third game in a row, and their 0-3 record now gives them a chance to create history.

Per ESPN SportsCenter, no team in the NBA has ever recovered from an 0-3 deficit. 149 teams have failed in that attempt, and now LA has a chance to either become the first of 150 teams to rally back to contention or be swept 4-0.

The Lakers fell short again with a 119-108 loss at the Crypto.com Arena. LeBron James had 23 points, while Anthony Davis had 28 points. Austin Reaves continued his impressive run from Game 2, pouring in 23 points. But it wasn’t enough to help LA record their first win in the Western Conference Finals.

The next game at home is all about survival for the Lakers, and only time will tell if they can manage to stay alive in the competition.

Darvin Ham Still Confident That The Lakers Can Make A Comeback

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the loss, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham still projected a positive front.

“The deficit is 3-0. Not 4-0. As long as they haven’t gotten to four yet, there’s still hope. We’re still alive,” he told The Athletic’s Jovan Buha.

While Ham would obviously try to stay positive, the Lakers still need to win  — a task that’s insurmountable at this point. They had chances to win all three of the games but blew the leads they gained at crucial stages of the game. Denver, in the meantime, has used the Lakers’ weaknesses to good use and propped up wins on the trot.

By the looks of it, this series is all but over for the Lakers, but with James still in play, this ‘Miracle Lakers’ unit may gear up for one last push.
