James Harden had a rocky series vs. the Boston Celtics in the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Beard failed to make an impact in the crucial Game 7 of the series. He recorded just 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in the embarrassing 88-112 Game 7 defeat. NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith blasted Harden’s poor performance and even urged him to shave his beard to hide his identity after the abysmal showing.

“James Harden was so awful, so bad, he should actually shave his beard so he can hide his identity,” Smith blasted Harden. “That’s how bad he was. It was really, really bad. I say that in all seriousness. I’m not joking. I worked in Philadelphia for 17 years, it was so bad, I’m telling you right now, it would be difficult for him to walk the streets. You don’t do what you saw him do on Sunday afternoon in a Game 7.”

James Harden completely disappeared in unarguably the most important game of this season. He was crucified by fans after the disastrous performance.

But as per Stephen A. Smith, that’s just the start. Smith’s suggestion for Harden is to shave his beard to hide his identity. Otherwise, the former NBA MVP will find it difficult to even walk on the streets freely.

James Harden Opens Up About His Future With The 76ers

James Harden signed a 2-year $68.6 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers prior to the start of the 2022-23 NBA season. His contract involves a player option for the 2023-24 NBA season.

Harden will face the decision about whether he wants to exercise that player option or test the free agency. After getting eliminated from the playoffs, Harden gave a cryptic response about his future with the 76ers.

It seems like Harden is still unsure about returning to Philly as he wants to compete to win an NBA Championship.

Harden averaged 20.3 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 8.3 APG, 1.8 SPG, and 0.4 BPG in the playoffs. He shot a subpar 39.3% from the field but a solid 37.8% from downtown. If Harden wants to return to the 76ers, he needs to be more consistent when it really counts.
