The Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat are on the verge of causing one of the biggest upsets in NBA history as they hold a 3-1 lead over the first-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the opening round of the playoffs.
Butler had an insane 56-point performance in Game 4 of the series, and NBA fans were in awe of it. Bam Adebayo had a somewhat quiet game. Keeping that in mind, an NBA fan on Twitter posted an image that perfectly depicts how Butler and Adebayo perform throughout the season.

The Twitter post showed how Jimmy Butler doesn’t takes basketball seriously until January of the regular season. Following that, Butler turns up his game during February and March and averages MVP numbers. Finally, come playoff time, Butler plays like he has been possessed by Michael Jordan.
To put things in perspective, Jimmy averaged 22.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 4.9 APG from October to January. From February to March, Butler averaged 23.6 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 5.5 APG. During the playoffs, Butler is currently averaging 36.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 5.0 APG.
Speaking of Bam Adebayo, his averages consistently drop throughout the year. Bam averaged a solid 21.4 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 3.1 APG from October to January. His numbers dropped to 19.6 RPG, 8.2 RPG, and 3.6 APG during the stretch from February to March. As for the playoffs, he is averaging 16.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 3.8 APG.
The Miami Heat Could Trade Jimmy Butler Or Bam Adebayo This Summer
After making the Western Conference Finals last season, the Miami Heat fell to the eighth seed in the 2022-23 NBA season. Sure, they hold a commanding 3-1 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks, but there is still a lot of doubt about the future of Butler and Adebayo with the team.
Earlier this season, Miami Heat insider Barry Jackson claimed that the franchise could make a push for another star this summer. If the star is big enough, the organization could trade either star.
Heat will renew efforts to land a star this offseason. The only question is who (if anyone) would be big enough to make them consider dealing Butler or Bam. (Not talking about Lillard specifically). That’s the biggest question of the offseason, one they’ll need to seriously discuss.”
The Jimmy Butler-Bam Adebayo duo has done a good job for the Heat over the last couple of years. The duo even led the team to the 2020 NBA Finals.
But at the end of the day, the Heat are yet to win an NBA Championship, with Butler and Adebayo spearheading the team. If the franchise has another disappointing postseason run, it could lead to the experiment blowing up.
