NBA analyst Nick Wright made a bold claim that the Los Angeles Lakers will beat the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2023 NBA Finals.

Speaking on First Things First, “The King stay the king for ring number five over Joel Embiid and James Harden,” Wright said. It was a uber-confident reply at best from the man who has always been a James fan.

The Lakers have a string of challenges to vault over, starting off with taking on the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round. And Wright seems to be optimistic about their chances even though LA is the underdog heading into the contest.

LeBron James and the Lakers were off to a 0-5 start to the season, which later read 2-10 in 12 games. Injuries to their superstars, along with some inconsistent performances, saw them wobble.

The changes were distinct once the Lakers reshaped their roster ahead of the trade deadline. While they do have the right pieces now, much depends on James and Anthony Davis to steer LA all the way.

NBA Analyst Believes The Los Angeles Lakers Were More Than Just Lucky

LA Times’ Dan Woike opined that the Lakers had more than just luck after they made the playoffs. In his latest column, he credited the Lakers for not budging in the face of adversity.

“They were nimble. They were resilient. And, if we’re being honest, they were more than a little lucky,” Woike wrote. And the analyst was right, considering the team held its own in the absence of either or both their stars.

The Lakers will certainly not have it easy against the Grizzlies. And their job is far from done as they will, over the course of their playoff run will face the likes of the Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, and Sacramento Kings.

Only time will tell if Wright’s prediction will come true. The Lakers faithful will surely not mind this claim.
