The 2022-23 NBA regular season is done and dusted. It is now time for the media to heavily discuss the potential winners of the end-season awards.
The MVP award is unarguably one of the most important ones, and this season, Joel Embiid has been predicted to finally take home the honor. Zach Lowe of ESPN recently revealed that he has voted for Embiid as the 2022-23 NBA MVP.
“I voted 2023 MVP Joel Embiid. I went Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Tatum, Donovan Mitchell. That’s my MVP ballot,” Lowe said in the latest episode of his podcast. “Luka fell off of it towards the end of the season. … I think the last five weeks has just been all Embiid. I voted Embiid MVP in the end. I think he’s deserving, and I think he’s going to win and maybe easily.”

Although the final results of the ballot are yet to be released, Lowe’s vote has the power to impact other voters out there.
With that being said, it is becoming crystal clear that Joel Embiid is on the verge of winning the MVP award this season.
Joel Embiid Doesn’t Care About The MVP Duel With Nikola Jokic
Over the last few seasons, Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic have been the top-two players battling it out to win the MVP award.
Jokic won back-to-back MVP awards in the last two seasons. This led to many believing that Embiid was snubbed of at least one MVP award in his career. On top of that, the Philadelphia 76ers superstar also showed disappointment over getting snubber.
But this season, Embiid has dealt with the MVP race with a different attitude. So much so that Embiid recently announced that he doesn’t care about the MVP duel with Jokic.
“I don’t care,” said Embiid. “Like I said, it’s all about the playoffs. I mean, if one game was going to hurt anybody’s chances, I guess everybody should be out of it. We all have bad games, guys miss matchups, that’s not the first time, and it’s not really a matchup about me and Nikola. He’s a great player, an amazing player. Like I always say, back-this-back MVPs, he’s one of the best players in the league, and I’m a huge fan.”
The Cameroonian-born player may no longer care about winning the MVP award, but he definitely deserves it for his performances this season.
Embiid averaged 33.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 4.2 APG this season. He has already won the league’s scoring title and is now the favorite to become the most valuable player.
