The Minnesota Timberwolves will face off against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night for a permanent spot in the playoffs.

Right before the crucial game, the Timberwolves are dealing with team chemistry issues due to the heated fight between Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson. In addition, Jaden McDaniels is out of the game due to an injury. NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith blasted the T-Wolves for falling apart prior to their play-in tournament game.

“Rudy Gobert, swinging and hitting Kyle Anderson, stupid, immature, belligerent, uncalled for, wrong,” Smith said. “Even though, Kyle Anderson did call him a b***h. Yes, he did. That’s exactly what he said to him. That’s why Rudy swung on him.

“But then you, Jaden McDaniels, you’re a rookie. You’re one of the elite defenders in the game of basketball. Somebody, in all likelihood, who would have been defending against LeBron James. You go and knock yourself out for the rest of the season because you upset about something, and you punch a damn wall and break your hand. Dumb. Not you, Jaden, your actions. Dumb, irresponsible. I think Minnesota’s toast.”

Smith believes that the Timberwolves have destroyed their chances of winning against the Lakers.

The Purple and Gold have been in great form since the NBA All-Star break, and the Timberwolves needed to be at their best to have a shot at beating them. But with Gobert and Anderson not seeing eye-to-eye and with Jaden McDaniels injured, the odds of defeating the Lakers have reduced for the team.

Rudy Gobert Will Miss The Play-In Tournament Game vs. The Lakers

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be shorthanded during their Tuesday night trip to the Crypto.com Arena.

Following Gobert’s punch at Anderson, he has been handed a one-game suspension by the organization, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Gobert will serve a one-game suspension and is expected to return if the Wolves lose to the Lakers and play another play-in game, or advance into the Western Conference playoffs, sources said.”

The Lakers are now the heavy favorites to win the play-in game vs. the Timberwolves. After all, the trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell looks too much to handle for the drama-stricken Timberwolves.
