The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently facing off against the New Orleans Pelicans, in a game that has massive seeding implications for both teams. The atmosphere in the arena is definitely tense, and it seems as though the Timberwolves are feeling the pressure.

A recent video of Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert getting into a scuffle on the Timberwolves bench went viral on Twitter. The Pelicans currently have a lead over the Timberwolves, so it is easy to see why the two were frustrated.

Obviously, physical violence is unacceptable whether it is between teammates or opponents. Luckily, the situation was diffused before anyone could get seriously hurt, and hopefully, this doesn’t happen again during the game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves Traded For Rudy Gobert Because They Wanted To Do Something Different From The Rest Of The League

The Minnesota Timberwolves gave up a lot of assets to get Rudy Gobert, including multiple first-round picks. The move clearly has not had the effect that was desired thus far, though it should be noted that the team has struggled with injuries this year. Coach Chris Finch explained that the Minnesota Timberwolves believe in the fit of Rudy Gobert with Karl-Anthony Towns, adding that they wanted to go big and do something different.

“We do have a lot of different players at different points in their career. I feel that the pieces do fit together,” said Finch. “We have not really seen what we can do because of the KAT injury. We’ve played 45 games without him. We do know that there is good chemistry between KAT and Rudy. And about the Rudy trade… when your best player is Karl-Anthony Towns, you’re not gonna go small. You’re not taking him off the floor. So we thought while the rest of the league is zigging, we might zag and see if it works… Let’s try and be different.”

Hopefully, we see the Minnesota Timberwolves find some degree of success in the future. They are definitely one of the elite teams in the league from a talent standpoint, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future. If Anthony Edwards can become a superstar, then their future looks much brighter.
