Udonis Haslem has closed his NBA career (at least in the regular season) today, stealing the show during his final regular-season game, playing like his best version against the Orlando Magic.

After finishing the game with 24 points (his highest-scoring game since 2009), Haslem surpassed Ben Simmons’ highest-scoring game on the Brooklyn Nets.

Simmons’ highest-scoring game for the Nets happened back in November when he dropped 22 points on the Memphis Grizzlies. Five days later, he would drop 20 points on the Indiana Pacers, marking the second and so far final time he scored 20+ points for the Brooklynites.

The Australian point guard can’t do anything to surpass Haslem, at least not this campaign. He’s been shut down for the season by the Brooklyn Nets. The team will face the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs, but Simmons won’t be there to help them.

Udonis Haslem Put On A Show For Miami Heat’s Fans

As for Haslem, he had a terrific game, finishing the match with 24 points, making two 3s, and even dunking the ball. UD scored 13 points in the first quarter, sending NBA fans into a frenzy.

The Heat paid a big homage to Haslem, even gifting him a rocking chair. Dwyane Wade was in attendance to celebrate UD, and the fans showed him a lot of love in his final regular-season game. After 20 years in the league, Haslem is finally calling it a career, and he said goodbye in the best possible way.

Now the Heat must get ready to face the Atlanta Hawks in the play-in tournament. A win would make them face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs, while finishing at 8th will send them to a series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The journey won’t be easy for the Heat if they want to be champions this season, but this team has never run away from a challenge.
