Forward Andrew Wiggins has become an elite two-way player during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors, and he helped them win the championship in 2022. This season, he has been out for an extended period of time due to his dealing with his father’s health issue.

As of now, Andrew Wiggins has returned to the Bay and was at the team’s recent game. However, Steve Kerr recently revealed that Andrew Wiggins wouldn’t play for the rest of the regular season. An article by Alex Espinoza of 95.7 The Game relayed the news.

“He’s not gonna play in these last two games of the regular season,” Kerr told hosts Mark Willard and Dan Dibley. “He’ll continue to work and he’ll ramp it up pretty quickly.”

There is no doubt that saving Andrew Wiggins for the playoffs makes sense for the Golden State Warriors. They can likely avoid the play-in tournament without him and keep him fresh to guard elite players in the postseason.

This season, Andrew Wiggins has put up 17.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 2.3 APG for the Golden State Warriors while also being efficient, averaging 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the 3PT range. The Warriors definitely need him to have a chance of repeating as champions, and we’ll see how they do in the playoffs this season.

Stephen Curry Believes The Warriors Can Still Make A Run This Season

Even though the Golden State Warriors have been an inconsistent team this season, they definitely have the talent to get far. In fact, Stephen Curry claimed that the Warriors can “absolutely” make a run this season.

“This year we’ve had guys in a lot of different roles, some newcomers,” Curry said on Steiny and Guru. “For us to be the champs and have to take everybody’s best shot all year, some self-inflicted wounds that we’ve had, games we should have won.

“With all that said, absolutely (we can make a run). I feel like we are a team that’s a force and when we’re locked in on the specific test of trying to beat a team four times in a playoff series – obviously we need to get there and finish this year strong and hopefully stay out of the play-in – that remains the same.”

Stephen Curry is clearly confident in the team’s championship experience, and if they put things together, they can still be a really dangerous team. As long as Stephen Curry is on the roster, they have a chance against anyone, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
