The person many consider to be the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady, is making a bold next step in his life.

After retiring from the NFL this season, Brady has decided to put his considerable wealth toward business ventures. This includes getting involved in basketball, as Brady has purchased an ownership stake in the reigning WNBA Champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

“I grew up with three older sisters, they were all incredible athletes in their own right, they were role models to me. It’s where my love for women’s sports began. I tagged along, I was the annoying little brother to all their games and they were the best athletes in our house and they’re still a great inspiration to me. I admire all the work of the Aces players and staff do and what the WNBA continues to do to grow the sport. And to empower the future generations of female athletes, when I have in my own family and I’m ready to contribute in any way possible as a member of such a great organization, what an honor.”

Brady’s ownership percentage has not been revealed, so it’s unclear what level of involvement Brady will have in the team’s day-to-day operations. Considering they’re the reigning champions, Brady will just hope the team can continue doing what they’re already doing. Las Vegas is also the location where LeBron James hopes to eventually own an NBA franchise.

Is This A Solid Investment For Tom Brady?

Women’s sports get a bad rap due to the difference in commercial success that they have compared to their men’s alternatives. The WNBA is one of the most empowered leagues and understands the battles they’re fighting to try and get more people interested in the women’s game. Brady’s association will further boost the popularity of the sport.

The WNBA has some tremendous on-court action that fans will definitely be entertained by. The Aces, under coach Becky Hammon, had a wonderful season last year, and here’s hoping it continues this season. With a 7-time Super Bowl winner as part of the ownership group, the organization has winner’s DNA through and through.
