LeBron James has expressed his intention to become a team owner in the future, and he might be closer to that goal than we think. The King is already a part-owner of different teams in many leagues and sports, but James has made an NBA team his top priority.

Going to Las Vegas presents the best opportunity for him to first play with Bronny James in the league and then become an owner, which is something he’s been mentioning for a while now.

Meanwhile, he keeps playing at the highest level, trying to lead the struggling Lakers to the promised land again. James has been seen visibly mad after the Lakers suffered losses, and many think he’s tired of this situation.

LeBron James Could Become A Team Owner After His NBA Career Is Over

Perhaps if he becomes a team owner, he would have a better understanding of moving players and agree with his current team’s front office. But first, he needs to get that team, and Bill Simmons believes James could bring the Las Vegas franchise to the NBA.

During a recent edition of his podcast, Simmons explained that LeBron through Fenway Group will try to get that expansion team, especially now that the league knows how much they can get with the purchase of a franchise.

“That establishes the mark for expansion franchises, right? One of the reasons it was soimportant to get to $4 billion [the amount of money Mat Ishbia paid for the Phoenix Suns], now they know that Vegas expansion team will go to Fenway Sports Group and LeBron. I keep telling you this…”

Simmons isn’t the biggest fan of LeBron but he knows people and is well-respected in Boston. Of course, all this info needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but things could be real soon.

LeBron still has big plans for the rest of his life, and if he becomes a team owner, he would emulate what Michael Jordan did when he bought the Charlotte Hornets.
