Anthony Edwards is widely viewed as one of the best young players in the league, well-known for his athleticism and scoring ability. He is also widely considered to be the franchise player for the Minnesota Timberwolves due to his superstar potential.

Despite his talent, Anthony Edwards has a tendency to play hero ball, which can be a problem for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Recently, coach Chris Finch called him out on it, telling him to “keep making the right play.”

“Yeah, I think just a little too much hero ball right now,” said Finch. “Keep making the right play, like when he was playing really well.”

It is quite likely that we’ll see Anthony Edwards figure out this issue going forward. He will likely get better at knowing when to get his own shot or set up a teammate in the clutch as he continues to grow as a player, and making the right play in almost every situation is the next step for him.

Currently, Anthony Edwards is averaging 25.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 4.5 APG, while shooting 43.6% from the field and 36.5% from the 3PT range. He has managed to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to the 8th seed in the Western Conference.

Anthony Edwards Has Been Compared To Michael Jordan In The Past

There are many people who are high on Anthony Edwards’ potential, but there are none higher on him than Patrick Beverley, Previously, the point guard revealed his belief that Anthony Edwards could one day be as good as Michael Jordan.

“I told him… you got a chance brother, to be Michael Jordan”, said Beverley. “The kid doesn’t indulge in anything negative… just all positivity. His talent level and skill level is crazy, he has a chance to be really, really, really special, really special in this league.”

There is no doubt that these are high expectations for Anthony Edwards. However, that just shows how talented he is, and the expectations are there because he has the chance to do great things in the game. Karl-Anthony Towns has notably called him the most talented player that he’s ever played with.

Of course, it is quite likely that Anthony Edwards will not be as good as Michael Jordan at any point of his career. However, he has the chance to develop into a superstar-caliber player, and it’ll be interesting to see what he will be able to achieve going forward.
