Often times in the NBA, talent doesn’t equal success right away. Throughout the course of league history, many “superteams” needed time before they achieved their true potential.

For Kevin Durant, that has been the case for each one of his stops so far, and even his run with the Warriors had some growing pains early on.

So now that KD is in Phoenix, what can we possibly hope to expect from them this season, given that there are only about 20 games left before the playoffs? As Durant himself revealed to the media on Thursday,  he believes they have everything they need to win a championship.

“We’ve got all the pieces to be successful,” Durant said.

It will be a major adjustment for KD and everyone else on the Suns, but there is a sense that everyone on the team is willing to adjust and adapt to make it work.

“I appreciate your warm welcome, but we’ve got work to do,” Durant said. “I feel like I’ve still got to prove myself. I want to put good stuff on film every day. That’s the only thing I’m concerned with at this point in my life, is putting good stuff on film every night. I’m looking forward to doing that for Suns fans and hopefully they accept me after that.”

It was Phoenix who made the biggest splash of the season by adding Kevin Durant to their already star-studded cast. With him, Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton, the Suns have a solid group of well-rounded players capable of taking on any team in the league.

New-Look Suns Are The Favorites To Win The West

After giving up Mikal Bridges and a mountain of draft picks to land Kevin Durant, it’s now or never for the Suns. With, arguably, the best roster in basketball, expectations have changed drastically for the ball club.

While Durant has embraced the heightened expectations that come with stardom, he’ll have to back up his words with amazing postseason play or he could find himself stuck having to listen to the haters and doubters all summer long.
