Zion Williamson’s demons have returned to haunt him this year, as the New Orleans Pelicans young star has dealt with injuries once again, setting the alarms at Smoothie King Center in a season where the Pelicans looked ready to compete at the top of the Western Conference.
Zion has been sidelined since January 2 when he picked up a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing during the last month. He was even ruled out for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game, with the league announcing the replacements earlier this week.
It looked like Zion would make his return after the All-Star Game, but the Pelicans have received bad news today. What seemed to be a normal and on-schedule recovery has received a big setback and Zion will miss more time.
Zion Williamson To Miss More Time Than Expected With Hamstring Injury
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the New Orleans Pelicans forward has re-aggravated his hamstring injury and will remain sidelined for more weeks than initially expected.

The Pelicans have seen their season take a different turn, as they ranked 1st at the beginning of the year in the West, but now things have changed for this team. They had big expectations before the start of the season after a terrific 2021-22 NBA season.
Unfortunately, their best player has spent a lot of time on the bench, which has hurt their chances to win games more consistently. Zion has been dealing with injuries during his entire NBA career and we hope that this is the beginning of something different for him.
He’s one of the most exciting players in the league right now, but if his body doesn’t help him, Zion could become another big ‘what-if’ story in the NBA.
