LeBron James is the name on everyone’s lips today as he crossed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He was able to score the points necessary to unlock this great achievement that many thought impossible, and the world was quick to laud LeBron James for being able to accomplish what he did.

There was huge anticipation before the game that the record would be broken against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was himself present to pass the torch. LeBron James‘ family was able to be present for the moment, and the entire stadium celebrated it too. But one of the people many expected to be incredibly happy about the situation didn’t seem too pleased with it at all.

As Bill Simmons pointed out, Anthony Davis looked like he was far from interested in congratulating LeBron James despite the enormity of what had just happened. While everyone, including his teammates, was celebrating, Davis was sitting on the bench, clearly not too pleased with how things were going. And his post-game press conference further fuelled the fire that he wasn’t happy.

“It’s been great. It’s been a part of our team success, a big part of my success. Leader in all kind of ways, all facets of the game, on and off the floor. Great human being, checks all the boxes. Definitely well deserved… I’m just honored to witness it live.”

When Anthony Davis was asked about the game itself, though, a game the Lakers incidentally lost, he answered very curtly.

“Win games. Simple.”

Anthony Davis is a competitor, and perhaps what this whole thing was about was the fact that the Lakers failed to win a game they needed to. As they get closer to the All-Star break, they can’t afford to fall too far behind, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Davis was more concerned about the loss than James’ achievement.

Anthony Davis Was Spotted Looking Unhappy Next To LeBron James On The Bench

Anthony Davis won a championship next to LeBron James, his only one, so there is no doubt that he has a lot of love and respect for his co-star. But cameras caught AD looking displeased at one point while on the bench next to LeBron James.

There is no use speculating on what exactly has happened in this situation, but it’s something that the Lakers surely have an eye on. A healthy and motivated AD is instrumental to any hopes for success they might have. Whatever it is, perhaps the NBA world will find out soon.
