Joel Embiid finished the 2021/22 NBA regular season on a strong note, which hasn’t changed in the playoffs. The Cameroonian big man picked things right where he left them, dominating in the first three playoffs matches against the Toronto Raptors.

Even though James Harden hasn’t played as expected, Embiid has carried this team, becoming one of the biggest stories of this young postseason. The Raptors have been helpless against Embiid, and he has taken things personally after Nick Nurse called him out for looking for fouls.

Well, that hasn’t mattered for the player, who is ready to sweep the Raptors, the team that eliminated the Sixers in 2019 thanks to a memorable Kawhi Leonard buzzer-beater in Game 7. His performances have been noticed and many people have praised Embiid for his recent displays. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith even placed him among the greatest big men of all time.

“Joel Embiid just reminded us all of his level of greatness. This is one of the great great big men we’ve ever seen in the history of basketball from a talent perspective. When you think about the days of George Mikan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, obviously Shaq and let me not forget Bill Walton.”

“We cannot ignore Embiid. Joel Embiid, this year, has shown his greatness, he’s shown his leadership and he’s got one of the great great personalities in the game of basketball as well. This is a star you need to shine the lights on.”

Joel is doing things the right way. The Philadelphia 76ers are yet to play in a conference finals with him on the roster, and this could be the year where he finally reaches that stage and even the Finals. We have to wait and see how this situation develops in the next weeks, but it seems like the Sixers are in a good position to aspire to win the 2022 championship.
