Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the league. He is known for being an electric scorer and having the best ballhandling ability in the league. Currently, Kyrie Irving is averaging 27.7 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG.

Most recently, Kyrie Irving scored 42 points against the Houston Rockets, with a 17 point 4th quarter. Kyrie Irving helped the Nets close out the Rockets after their 21 point lead was cut down to 6. After the game, Kyrie Irving commented on his 4th quarter explosion, claiming that he had to “lead by example”. An article by ESPN relayed the news.

Kyrie Irving scored 42 points and the Brooklyn Nets beat the Houston Rockets 118-105 on Tuesday night to improve their position in the race for play-in seeding.

Irving had 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Nets pull away again after their 21-point lead dwindled to six.

“When the game starts to get a little out of hand or we have a big lead and let it go, then it’s time to put the foot back on the gas pedal and I have to lead by example,” Irving said.

There is no doubt that Kyrie Irving’s shot creation is going to be crucial for the Brooklyn Nets in the play-in tournament, and possibly the playoffs. He takes a lot of attention off of Kevin Durant when he’s scoring at a high rate, and there’s no doubt that he’s dangerous for opposing defenders.

The Brooklyn Nets are viewed as a team that could potentially get out of the play-in tournament and maybe win a series or two in the playoffs. They’ll need Kyrie Irving at his best to do so, and perhaps we’ll see Kyrie Irving elevate to another level when the postseason comes around for the Nets.
