• Partizan Belgrade fans came out with passion for a preseason game against Fuenlabrada

• Former NBA players P.J. Dozier and Frank Kaminsky were floored by the fan support for their new squad

• The game created some of the most incredible visuals we have seen at a professional basketball game

A preseason game between Serbian side Partizan Belgrade and Spanish squad Fuenlabrada resulted in some of the greatest visuals we have seen from a modern basketball game. The Partizan fans lit up the skies with flares and banners in an open arena as thousands of fans showed incredible passion for a preseason contest.

Partizan fans are widely considered the best fans in the world and they put on a dazzling display in this game. Imagining an NBA game with a rabid atmosphere like this seems mind-boggling given what we have come used to. We have seen some very loud fans in the NBA but never in an open venue like that.

It resembles something that could happen in Rucker Park or other iconic outdoor venues in the US. Unfortunately, you won’t see a scene like this at a venue like that because the Partizan fans are always willing to go to great lengths to support their team.

Partizan Belgrade and Fuenlabrada are like brothers despite being in different parts of Europe. This was because Fuenlabrada came to Partizan’s aid in 1992 and allowed them to play their games in the city as sanctions meant they couldn’t play at home. Partizan would go on to win the EuroLeague in the first season under legendary coach Zeljk Obradovic.

Former NBA Players Shocked At Fan Atmosphere

Frank Kaminsky and P.J. Dozier joined Partizan Belgrade this summer after their respective NBA stints ended last season. This was their first contest with Partizan and it’s safe to say they hadn’t seen anything like this and confirmed so in post-game interviews.

“I have to admit that I completely stopped thinking about the game. There were moments when I just watched what was happening in the stands. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I can’t wait to see how it all looks in the hall. Now it’s clear to me because everyone, they say that Partizan fans are the best in the world.”

Kaminsky was also floored and can’t wait for his first game in the Partizan Belgrade arena.

“It was incredible. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I can’t wait to see how it will look in the Arena.”

Partizan won the game 93-63 in front of their home fans, ramping up for a challenging season ahead.

Nikola Jokic Helped P.J. Dozier In His Move To Serbia

Dozier played on the Denver Nuggets alongside Serbian center Nikola Jokic, who helped Dozier understand the culture of the city and the country, a sign of support that Dozier really appreciated.

“We heard each other. He called me on the phone when he found out I was about to come to Serbia and sign with Partizan. He told me about the city, Serbia, and the fans. When he put his stamp on the whole story, then I really felt the delight of coming here.”

Dozier played three seasons with the Nuggets, averaging 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists over the course of his time there. He last played for the Sacramento Kings last season and has switched over to Europe.

Frank Kaminsky put behind an eight-year career in the NBA to move to Belgrade and play for Partizan. He’s excited about the challenge and has spoken glowingly about what they want to achieve.

“Every day it’s getting easier for me. For now, we’re working on continuity, on building chemistry, but what makes it a lot easier for me is the fact that there are a lot of guys in the team who have been together for several years and when I forget something or don’t know how to do, they immediately help, explain to me.”

Kaminsky last played for the Phoenix Suns but wasn’t brought back on the roster this summer. This led to his move to Partizan where he hopes to make a big impact in tricky European competitions.
