- James believes Tupac was “one of a kind”
The great Tupac Shakur passed away on September 13, 1996, and LeBron James paid tribute to him on his death anniversary. James took to Instagram to share a message where he hailed the rap icon as “one of a kind.”

LeBron has a lot of respect and admiration for Tupac. Back in 2020, James said that he wished he had a chance to meet Tupac, whom he stated had an unbelievable mind.
“Man wish I had a chance to meet this guy! Unbelievable mind, passion, beyond his years!”

Tupac wasn’t just an incredible rapper, but through his music, he also addressed a variety of issues in society, like racism and violence. He really touched the hearts and minds of millions around the world, and it’s a shame that his life ended so soon in such tragic fashion.
An unknown assailant had shot at Tupac and hit him four times on September 6, 1996, in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. He battled hard but succumbed to his injuries and died on the 13th.
LeBron James’ Favorite Rap Albums
While LeBron has a lot of love for Tupac, none of his albums cracked his list when he was asked to name his favorite ones. In 2022, LeBron did a ‘Q and A’ on Twitter, where he revealed what his favorite rap albums are.
James picked The Chronic, Doggystyle, Black Album, Life After Death, and It Was Written. These were off the top of his head, though, as LeBron added there are so many more he could name. The four-time NBA champion had picked Tupac as one of his favorite rappers back in 2012, so he clearly does like many of his songs.
“Biggie, Pac, Jay, Eminem, Nas.”

LeBron is far from being the only one who rates Tupac so highly. Damian Lillard’s Mount Rushmore of rappers included Jay-Z, Tupac, Lil Wayne, and Biggie.
LeBron James Is Gearing Up For A Strong 2023-24 Campaign
The 2023-24 NBA season is now just over a month away from commencing. It will be LeBron’s 21st season in the league, and he plans to continue to dominate, as he always has.
James sent a strong message to fans ahead of Year 21, where he claimed that being tired is just a mental thing. He believes that you only get tired if you tell yourself that, and claims he never gets tired.
Prior to that, a video of LeBron and Rui Hachimura’s intense summer workout to prepare for next season went viral. James wants to win another championship, and he is going to leave no stone unturned in that quest.
Last season saw an incredible run to the Western Conference Finals for LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers, but that isn’t good enough for him. Over the last decade or so, every season has been championship or bust for the 38-year-old, and this upcoming one will be no different.
LeBron averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game last season, and you’d back him to put up similar numbers in 2023-24. The question with him and the Lakers in general is their health, and if they can stay relatively injury-free, I expect them to be serious contenders for the title.
