Anthony Davis was ruled out of the end of Game 5 between the Lakers and Warriors after taking a hit to the face from Kevon Looney.

Davis needed help walking off the court after spending a few minutes on the bench reeling from the blow.

“As they were walking and escorting him, AD did not look as stable. He needed a little bit of help walking. He appeared to be a little bit dizzy.”

The blow came on an off-ball play, with fans initially thinking it was a nose injury. Given the help AD needed and the dizziness he was faced with, this could be the signs of a concussion.

If Anthony Davis is put into concussion protocol, the Lakers are in big trouble. It would definitely mean that AD is ruled out of Game 6 after the team was barely competitive in Game 5. The 3-1 series comeback may be on the books as the Warriors close Game 5 out as a win.

The one thing Lakers fans were praying for was good health for their stars. LeBron James postponed foot surgery to keep himself available for the playoffs even though he hasn’t been 100%. Losing Davis to a concussion could be a devastating blow to the Lakers’ hopes in this series, even though they have a 3-2 advantage.

Everyone’s eyes will be glued to Twitter tomorrow to see if there’s an update on AD’s health ahead of Game 6. This could wreck their season unless LeBron can step up in Game 6 with one of his iconic playoff performances.
