Anthony Edwards showcased not only his on-court prowess but also his wit and humor during a recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers. In a hilarious moment during the second quarter, Edwards found himself matched up against D’Angelo Russell, who attempted to draw a foul by letting out an exaggerated cry after minimal contact.

D’Angelo Russell: “Aye!”

Anthony Edwards: “Hell nah, ain’t no aye”

Just a few moments later, Anthony Edwards got into a funny exchange with a referee after being hit in the face by Rui Hachimura.

Anthony Edwards: “Aye. He smacked me in the face. You gotta review that, he smacked me in my damn face. You ain’t get hit, so you don’t know.”

Referee: “I’ve gotten hit a few times.”

Anthony Edwards: “Not out here.”

Referee: “You right about that now that now.”

Anthony Edwards: “Facts.”

Despite the physical altercation, Edwards maintained his assertiveness, demanding a review of the play and expressing his frustration to the official. However, the exchange remained relatively light-hearted, with both parties engaging in banter about the physicality of the game.

Overall, Edwards’ humorous retort to Russell’s foul-drawing attempt and his assertive yet playful interaction with the referee underscored his dynamic personality and his ability to keep the mood light even in intense game situations. As the Timberwolves continue to climb the ranks in the league standings, Edwards’ on-court contributions and off-court charisma continue to endear him to fans and teammates alike.

Anthony Edwards Definitely Has A Grudge Against The Lakers

Anthony Edwards’ apparent grudge against the Los Angeles Lakers has become increasingly evident, although the exact reason behind it remains unclear. Despite the recent victory, Edwards couldn’t resist taking a shot at the Lakers’ players, indicating some underlying tension. Even before the recent game, Edwards made comments about LeBron James, labeling him as old and referring to him as ‘Unc’. This behavior suggests that Edwards harbors some animosity towards the Lakers organization.

One possible reason for Edwards’ grudge could be the Lakers’ historically dominant record against the Timberwolves, with an 85-44 head-to-head record. Additionally, the Lakers have emerged victorious in the two playoff matchups between the two teams, further fueling any resentment Edwards may feel toward them. Moreover, the Lakers defeated the Timberwolves in a crucial play-in tournament game last year, adding to the frustration for Edwards and his team.

In that pivotal play-in game, Edwards endured a tough night on the court, finishing with just 9 points and 8 rebounds while struggling with his shooting, going 3-17 from the field and 0-9 from beyond the arc. His performance was marred by 4 turnovers, compounding the disappointment for the Timberwolves.

Looking at Edwards’ career statistics against the Lakers, it’s clear that he hasn’t had the easiest time facing them. Despite averaging a solid 22.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in the 13 matchups against the Lakers, his team’s lack of success against them may have contributed to his apparent frustration and desire to compete at a higher level against one of the league’s most storied franchises.

Anthony Edwards‘ grudge against the Lakers seems to stem from a combination of factors, including their dominance in head-to-head matchups, playoff defeats, and his own struggles on the court against them. While the exact reasons may remain unclear, it’s evident that Edwards is motivated to prove himself and his team against the Lakers in future encounters.
