Anthony Edwards and Jimmy Butler starred in a curious moment during the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-101 on Wednesday night. After getting whistled for traveling, Edwards kept the ball in his arms. Butler snatched it and the sophomore shooting guard shoved the Heat’s player.
Jimmy didn’t like that and stared down at Edwards. The 2020 No. 1 overall pick didn’t back down and stared back at the former Timberwolves player. Following the game, Edwards reflected in his exchange with Butler, dismissing any chance of a fight between them, calling all of that ‘fake.’

Moreover, he explained why he shoved Butler, revealing he doesn’t like when people take the ball out of his hands that way. In the end, the referees will always get the ball, so doing that is unnecessary.
“I just don’t like when people yank the ball out of my hands. It’s not that serious. The ball gonna get to the ref. It gotta get to the ref. You yanking it out of my hands won’t make it any faster,” Edwards said. “So, he took the ball out of my hands, and I was just like, ‘Come on, bro. It ain’t that serious. I just felt like I had to let him know, ‘Chill.’”

Edwards (22.8 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 3.4 APG), is still young and only in his second season in the league, but that doesn’t mean he’s naive about how things work in the league. He knows nobody will actually throw hands on the court unless something really serious happens.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are surprising a lot of people, getting big wins, including the one against the inspired Heat. Minnesota currently ranks 8th in the Western Conference standings with a 9-9 record.
They’ll try to keep the good pace against the LaMelo Ball-led Charlotte Hornets tonight, in a duel between two of the most exciting young players in the association. Hopefully, Ant-Man doesn’t star in another controversial moment, but he’ll be ready for whatever happens.
