LeBron James is in the final few seasons of his NBA career, and there is no denying that fact. Keeping that in mind, the position of the next face of the league will soon open up in the league.

Miami Heat star center Bam Adebayo believes that title belongs to none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo once LeBron James retires from the league. Adebayo also praised Giannis for having a 2K-ish skill set that puts him in a different stratosphere.

“I think it’s Giannis,” said Adebayo. “I mean, he’s seven foot, first of all. The thing that really got him on the scene was when he would just take off from the free-throw line. Or he’ll get down the court and three dribbles and dunk it. Just very ‘2K-ish.’”

These skills truly sound like something from a video game, and it’s not a surprise that Adebayo praised Giannis for having these abilities in his arsenal.

“It looks very unreal. And I feel like that’s the thing that put Jordan over the top,” he added. “That’s what put Kobe [Bryant] in that and Bron [James]. It’s like they had this special gift they only had. The fact that he can two-step through four people and dunk the basketball, it’s, like, boring now, but it’s, like, really different.”

Adebayo had nothing but praise for the Greek Freak, and his answer also shows the respect that he has for Giannis’ game.

While all that is true, does Giannis even want to become the next face of the NBA? After all, that’s not something everyone in the NBA is ready to do so despite having a lot of basketball talent.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Doesn’t Want To Become The Next Face Of The League

There’s no denying the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the perfect candidate for becoming the next face of the league.

Unfortunately, Antetokounmo recently addressed this question, and we have some bad news for the fans.

“I don’t care about that. I only care about winning. I only care about having fun, I want to enjoy the game,” Giannis revealed. “I want to be healthy. I want to compete in a high level for as many years as I have left and I want to go back home to my kids and enjoy my time with my kids. I don’t believe being the face of the NBA changes or makes you play better or makes you play worse. … when it’s all said and done, I wanna say ‘hasta luego, kisses, bye-bye’ and I’ll be on one tropical island, and I’m not going to be watching the game.”

Giannis has apparently already decided what he wants to do in the future. There is no problem in accepting Giannis’ decision, but players, fans, and media will continue to ask the Bucks superstar about his thoughts on becoming the next face of the league despite countless rejections.
