Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were expected to lead the Brooklyn Nets to the promised land, but in two seasons and a half they spent together on the court, they were unable to do it.

Durant recently talked about the shocking Irving trade request, revealing he was ‘disappointed’ with that situation.

“I’m disappointed that we didn’t finish the season. But I also know we’re all separate entities. We all move and do the things that we want to do with our careers. I can’t fault somebody for doing that, even though it was at the expense of the team. That’s what he needed, that’s what he wanted to do. I don’t have a problem with that.”

KD revealed that his focus remains on hooping, and that’s all he cares about right now. Of course, he would have loved to continue his partnership with Kyrie, but things simply didn’t work for them.

Durant made it clear that the external noise of a contract extension, the rumors, the controversies, and all of that wasn’t important to him, but he knows things don’t work the same for everybody. Now, these two will try to win in the West with two different franchises after their failed partnership.

Kevin Durant’s Debut With Phoenix Suns Closer Than Ever

Meanwhile, KD is getting ready to make his long-awaited return to the court, which would be his official debut with the Phoenix Suns too. The team officially announced that Durant will be making his comeback this Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets, a team with a 5-game winning streak.

KD is a huge addition to the Suns, who now look like serious candidates to win it all this season. Durant is under big pressure this campaign, and he’s ready to go against everybody to add that elusive third championship to his impressive resume.

The expectations are high around the Suns’ new Big 3, and Durant will work hard to fulfill them.
