Bradley Beal shed light on his future with the Washington Wizards after the team failed to make the playoffs.

The team ended their reason with a 35-47 record, and the veteran was candid when he said he was “frustrated” with the team’s run. While at it,  he also spoke about his no-trade clause scenario.

“No I don’t use [my no-trade clause] as like a trump card,” he said, according to NBC Sports Washington. “… it’s not me, that’s beneath me.”

“I’m definitely frustrated,” he added. “I’m also at peace with where I am and who we are, and what we need to do to be better. It’s nothing I can do… We know where we failed and how we have to be better. It’s never one time where I’m like, ‘you know what, I’m out of here,’ you know? But I very well could, like you said, because I do have a no-trade. But I don’t use it as a trump.”

Beal just finished the first of his five-year, $251 million contract. He has a player option in the fifth, and his deal comes in with a no-trade clause as well. This season saw him end with 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists from 50 games.

Bradley Beal Will Have No Shortage Of Suitors If He Decides To Ask For A Trade

While Beal may have been cryptic about his future as a Wizard, there’s no doubt that he will have no dearth of suitors if at he decides to make his way out of Washington.

One of the teams constantly linked to the Wizards is the Los Angeles Lakers. Earlier, Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar listed the guard as one of the targets for LA this summer and had this to say about acquiring him via trade:

“To somehow get the Wizards to part ways with their franchise player, the Lakers have to offer the 2029 first-round pick along with any asset Washington wants outside of James and Davis. That means young prospects like Austin Reaves, Max Christie, and Scottie Pippen Jr would have to be dangled as trade bait.”

It’s tough to imagine that the Lakers will part ways with Reaves and Christie — two players who have been instrumental in the team’s run. But to land a seasoned vet like Beal, it’s pretty much a tough sacrifice they will have to make.

For now, Beal’s a Wizard. But the “how much longer” is something that only time will tell.
