After winning the NBA Championship with the Nuggets, two-way star Bruce Brown is entering the next chapter of his career. According to Pacers insider Alex Golden, the veteran swingman has agreed to a deal to join the Indiana Pacers just minutes after free agency.
The deal is for a whopping two-year, $45 million.

Brown played pretty well for the Nuggets this past season, posting averages of 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on 48% shooting. In the playoffs, he was dependable as a wing defender and scorer, which is why he earned a massive pay raise with Indiana.
Obviously, this move isn’t ground-breaking for the NBA, but it’s a big loss for the Nuggets. This season, Denver was able to capture a title for the very first time in part because of role-players like Brown who stepped up and delivered support when they were needed. Now, the Nuggets will have to look for a replacement… or face losing one of their most valuable wing players for nothing in return.
Meanwhile, for the Pacers, this move signals their goal to compete which makes sense given the development of Tyrese Haliburton and other young players on the roster.
Can The Pacers Make The Playoffs Next Season?
The Pacers were one of the surprise teams of the East last season and looked to be a real threat before falling apart down the stretch of the season.
Next campaign, the Pacers probably won’t be that much better, but the addition of Bruce Brown gives them another reliable veteran and adds some championship experience to the locker room.
The question is, is he really worth $22.5 million per year? While some might say no, Brown has two years to prove his worth and show all the doubters that he really is someone who can move the needle for an up-and-coming team.
