BTS superstar Min Yoon-gi, better and famously known as Suga, was named the NBA’s global ambassador.

Suga will now be the face of the league and will engage fans around the globe for the rest of the season and beyond, an official statement from the NBA said.

“SUGA, an avid NBA fan, will participate in several league initiatives that will be featured on the NBA’s and his personal social media channels, including attending NBA games and events in the U.S. and Asia and participating in the league’s promotional activities,” the release said.

“Music and basketball have been shared passions of mine since my youth, and it’s a dream to be named an NBA Ambassador,” Suga said. “I’m excited to formalize my relationship with the NBA, and I can’t wait to share some exciting collaborations I have planned with the league over the coming months.”

The music icon was in attendance for the NBA Japan Games 2022 last year, which saw the Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards play two preseason games. Recently, he was spotted at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks clash on January 12.

Fun Fact: Min Yoongi’s Stage Name ‘SUGA’ Is An Abbreviation Of Shooting Guard, His Basketball Position

Now, the shooting guard is actually the face of the NBA for the foreseeable future. There’s no doubt that the news will enthrall ARMY, the devout fanbase of BTS.

On the season front, the regular season inches to a close, and teams are caught in an intense race to make the postseason. The playoffs will start on April 15 and will end with the 2023 NBA Finals. For now, the likes of the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, and Philadelphia 76ers are some of the teams favored to be champs.

Safe to say, expect to see a lot more of Suga and maybe even a performance or two over the course of the postseason.
