Luka Doncic had some great words for teammate Kyrie Irving, who went off on the Sacramento Kings, especially in the 4th quarter of the game.
Following the Mavs’ 123-119 win over the Kings, Luka showered Kyrie with praise after recording a very impressive performance in a crucial win for his team.
“It was amazing to watch. When we most needed it, he showed up. So it was amazing to watch. The caliber the player that Kyrie is, it’s insane, the plays he made were insane, especially down the stretch, some of them really tough shots.”

Kyrie is showing up at the right moment, as the Mavericks are trying to make it to the play-in tournament, and winning every game is key for them. The duel against the Kings wasn’t easy, but they had a card under the sleeve, with Kyrie taking over, dropping 19 of his 31 points in the last quarter.
This is a big win for the Mavs, who are now tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings. Luka is well aware that he must be better, but it’s good to have somebody like Kyrie by his side.
Kyrie Irving Reflects On His Big Night
Kyrie remains confident in his team, expressing his desire to keep helping them become a better squad. The former Brooklyn Nets player has shown he can take over games and lead his team to get big wins, but now the hardest games are coming.
“I just got to stay focused on the goal at hand and that’s just being there for my teammates while we’re playing out there and staying connected. Look at my coach eye to eye and listen to his advice when needed and just allow myself to just flow into the game.”

The Mavericks still have play-in tournament hopes, and if they win their next two games, and the Thunder slip, they will make it to the young tournament, trying to get a chance to play in the playoffs.
Just like the Los Angeles Lakers, if the Mavericks make it to the playoffs, rivals will have to be careful, as this team is incredibly dangerous. They play against the Chicago Bulls this Friday before finishing the season against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
