The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers starred in a big game that saw the Clips take over and defeat the Purple and Gold in a big way.

This duel had many storylines to make it an interesting one, including the regular-season rivalry between the Lakers and Clippers, but also Russell Westbrook’s relationship with his old team.

After getting a tough and-one bucket, LeBron James made it clear he wasn’t trying to be amicable with Russ.

The King was ready to assert his dominance over the Clippers, but that never happened, and the younger team got away with a big win that places them in 5th in the Western Conference standings.

On the other hand, the Lakers remain 7th, with LeBron admitting he’s not too worried about the team’s final position. They will compete against anybody, no matter how high on the leaderboard they are.

Russell Westbrook Taunts LeBron James During Lakers vs. Clippers Game

Just like James had his moment with Westbrook, the point guard also trolled his former teammate. Fans reacted to it, trolling the Lakers too, for giving up on Westbrook.

While his tenure on the Lakers wasn’t as good as he would’ve liked it, Westbrook is now doing better on the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard even praised him, saying that he’s helping the team become better every game.

Russ first created a lot of doubts about his level, but he’s proven doubters wrong over time, becoming a big figure on the Clippers’ roster. Not so long ago, he went off on the Memphis Grizzlies, destroying the No. 2 team in the West while barking at Dillon Brooks.

The 2022-23 NBA regular season is close to its ending, and the Clippers are trying to secure a top-5 finish. If Westbrook keeps helping them by doing the little things, the situation will look better for the Clippers and bad for their rivals. In 19 games with the Clips, Russ averages 15.1 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per outing.
