The Damian Lillard trade buzz has a new development. As many as four teams are all interested in trading for the most sought-after point guard.

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, “Clippers, Timberwolves, Celtics, and Pelicans are all among teams “to reach out” about a potential Damian Lillard trade.”

This comes on the back of the 32-year-old wanting out of Portland after representing the franchise for 11 years. He further made it clear to the team that he only wants to play for the Miami Heat, teaming up alongside Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler.

Earlier, The Athletic’s Sam Amick wrote that Blazers GM Joe Cronin Cronin wouldn’t entertain any deal from Miami that isn’t in the best interest of the side.

Lillard has already garnered a lot of interest from different teams apart from the Miami Heat. Previous reports have suggested the Brooklyn Nets have an active interest in bringing the guard in, and they have the assets to make a deal happen.

Now, it remains to be seen if any of the aforementioned teams will have the necessary assets that see the Blazers trade Lillard for them.

The Heat Have Made Jimmy Butler And Bam Adebayo Unavailable In Trade Talks With The Blazers

With the Heat gunning for Damian Lillard, they made it abundantly clear that they would have every other player on the table to deal with except for Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

NBA insider Ira Winderman revealed as much saying, “Take anyone you want besides Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler… The Heat is all-in on this. This is their moment.”

During the 2022-23 season, Lillard averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG for the Blazers. It would be great to see him be on a contending franchise, but for now, Lillard to Miami is still on the cards, and only time will tell if they can manage to land the star player who can aid Butler and Adebayo in helping them win their championship.
