Russell Westbrook has been one of the more fun players to watch on the court over the years, but he also tends to draw a lot of attention toward himself before the game even starts.

Westbrook’s unique fashion sense tends to raise some eyebrows, and for the game against the Phoenix Suns, he wore an unbuttoned yellow shirt. His abs were on display, and Charles Barkley was very impressed by what he saw.

“I can’t remember the last time I could take my shirt off in public,” Barkley said.

Barkley then hilariously started doing crunches on the studio floor as he wanted to get an eight-pack of his own. Safe to say no amount of crunches or change in diet is going to help him get a physique anywhere close to that of Westbrook at this stage of his life.

Russ would go on to help the Los Angeles Clippers snatch home-court advantage in this series, as they beat the Suns 115-110. Westbrook struggled shooting the ball, as he went 3-19 from the field, but managed to impact the game in other ways. He had 11 rebounds, with 5 of them being offensive rebounds, and claimed after the game that there is no better rebounder than him at the point guard position. Russ also had a huge block on Devin Booker in the closing stages of the game and had 8 assists as well.

Russell Westbrook Isn’t Getting Carried Away With The Win Here

Not many gave the Clippers much of a chance in this series, especially after reports indicated that Paul George won’t be featuring at all due to his sprained knee. The Suns were 8-0 with Kevin Durant in the lineup coming into this series and you struggled to be optimistic about the Clippers’ chances, but they have now shown they have what it takes to beat the Suns.

Westbrook says they won’t get carried away by the result, as the job is far from being done, but this was definitely a huge win. The pressure is now entirely on the Suns, and if they fail to win Game 2, then an upset is well on the cards.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
